Penbryn is a very small unspoilt Hamlet with just a handful of spread out character stone dwellings and usually only features on well detailed maps and is unknown to many. 'Plas Bach' Cottage is easy to find, situated just 1 1/2 miles from the scenic Aberystwyth - Cardigan West Wales Coast 'A' Road, down the beautiful fern clad valley of the Hoffnant (Favourite Stream).
From the Aberystwyth direction - follow the A487 Cardigan Coast Road for just under 30 miles - soon after passing through the village of Brynhoffnant you will enter Sarnau - immediately turn right for Penbryn, at the minor crossroads before the converted old church - Continue for nearly a mile until you pass a phone box on your right - shortly after this take the left hand fork in the road (not right over the bridge) - After about 1/4 mile just past Maes Glas turn right for Penbryn - then travel 1/3 mile and turn right again (just before the little red post box) sign posted Penbryn Beach - Plas Bach Cottage is then very near on your left just before the little stone bridge over the Hoffnant Stream. From the Cardigan direction - travel approx. 8 miles on the A487 towards Aberystwyth - pass through Tanygroes - then into Sarnau - just as you are about to leave Sarnau, immediately after the converted old church turn left at the minor cross roads - then follow directions as above.
